The dots that allow me to change between different screens aren't working. Could anyone help?

More like when you touch however many dots you have at the bottom of your screen(I have 4 as well) lightly, it turns grey, then you hold and can move between the pages instead of fully swiping. If you touch too hard it starts the shaking screen with the minuses by the apps.
Ok I force stopped my phone and now it's working again. Thank you, LD150 for taking the time to help. Appreciate it.

OK I can do it now after some practice, but I have never done that before, and the amount of time between moving and jiggling us too short for my liking.
Particularly with big hands like mine.
They really are designed to swipe but if someone has 20 home pages I can see the value of it.
I used to be able to put my finger on it, hold down and toggle between screens.
You may have mis-remembered that. Or from an android phone.
Maybe I should do the same because it doesn't do that on any of my phones
like this ?
No. I believe 15? I do a software update every time it's offered so I'm not really sure. iPhone 11.
