Here you go: How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch with your Mac - Apple Support.

Step 2 (Connect iPhone and your computer with a cable) is only required initially. After that, you can Turn on Wi-Fi syncing.

I can’t connect it with my MacBook as it’s USB port is malfunctioning. That’s why I was enquiring about the wireless option.

That's a problem that needs to be fixed. I assume you tried different USB cables already, and different USB ports assuming your Mac has them.

Yep did try the two ports o have on my Mac and different cables and same issue.
