Just charging $1 is usually a way perfectly reputable companies check to verify your credit card is valid. Once they verify it, they credit it back. In and of itself, it's not a sign of a scam..

Posting here in this user-to-user forum doesn't inform Apple that there is a problem with this app. You can use the "Report a Problem" link from the app's page in the App Store to let them know.

I downloaded an app called sync for icloud and then it said it was free but i needed to add a credit card so i did and it took me the todum app where it is stating I need to sign in to manage my subscription. Totally annoying. And yes i am waiting for a call from Apple Support to also let them know what happened.

I had the same problem with Tudum. I was tricked into entering my credit card number to verify what I thought was sign-in for Kijiji. Ended up cancelling my credit card, and called their 1-844 number to cancel my "subscription" with no information on what the subscription was and what the charges were.

Definitely a scam!

This happened to me while trying to download a mobile parking meter app. I was asked to enter credit card info, which made sense as you have to pay to park. Next thing I know we're signed up for this thing. I found out you could cancel...for $37.00.

We, too, canceled our credit cards immediately and I'm going to make sure I don't have any other sites that use the password I entered with their site. So sneaky. Such a scam.

I thought I subscribed to I-Tunes and gave them my credit card # and ended up with Trudum. Shortly after that I received a “settings” icon with a message that my data was being shares. How can this happen? Is it a scam?.

Same thing happened to me when I downloaded a mobile parking app - I called just now - and a very rude customer service rep from Tudum said they would refund, I asked him how does this happen when you asking for a parking app, he refused to tell me or give him his supervisor (he said “I now have the right to hang up” and subsequently hung up on me,. I am going to call the City of Williamsburg and make a complaint, This is a scam. My credit card company has cancelled my credit card and will address the charges

Lots of vendors will put a $1 (or local equivalent) hold on your account to verify the card. It's released in generally a couple of business days. It's a fairly standard business practice. Apple does it.

Yes I know that, Except I did not subscribe to the APP called arcade who charged me the $1 and the $1.95. This was a scam perpetrated by Tudum and if you google you would realize that a great deal of people have been scammed by this. Apple should be investigating and finding a way to prosecute this company

To the best of my knowledge, Apple doesn't remove anything from the Feedback page. Also, they don't respond directly to you if you post there. On the other hand, the rules for posting here in this forum (where Apple doesn't read for suggestions or feedback) are relatively firm.

Make sure you're using the feedback link I posted above. If you do, someone from Apple will read it. If you want to deal more directly with Apple, use the "Get Support" link at the top right of every page of these forums.

Totally understand - I have also been scammed and although Tudum promised me a refund, I never received it, On top of that someone on this thread was condescending to me and when I responded, I got a slap on the wrist.
