Emails deleted on phone will not delete from computer

Hello!

I have an Exchange account that I use with Apple Mail on my iPhone and MacBook. But when I delete an email on my phone, it not only remains on my computer, but gives me an error message if I try to delete it again. I've tried shutting off the account and re-adding it on my computer - it worked once, but the problem persisted and last time I tried it, it had no effect. I've also seen advice about changing the IMAP pathway or something, but I can't figure out where to access that option. Any tips would be appreciated!

If this is an Exchange account, you do not want to try and change it to IMAP, it will only create more problems if you try. If your computer is experiencing a problem with deleting mail, do you have a problem with receiving or sending mail? Your Exchange administrator at work should be able to assist you with any settings issues you may have with their Exchange account. I would start by asking them.
