I logged in to my girlfriends macbook air M1 as a new user to try the "Universal Control" with My macbook air M1. Both are with the latest Software Update. But the Universal Control doesn't seems to work. Any one have a work around for this?

You may have used her computer with a new user account, but did you also sign into your iCloud account in that user account? This is part of the requirements of Universal Control.

That's disappointing. Go through the requirements and set up in the linked document. It might provide a bit of detail that needs to be tweaked. We have two M1 Macs here but as neither of them are mine, sadly, I rarely have the chance to play with them enough to have tested this.
