Using my old iPad as an reader

I have an A1432 Ipad...I think 1st Gen running 9.3.5 IOS.....I'm wanting to use it as an e-reader for pdfs only...but can't sync with my mac because the software is old and a lot of the new 3rd party apps won't work either. How do I get my pdfs from my computer to my ipad? Any other apps folks know about? Thanks
