What to do with old Apple products?

My wife and I are moving and have a lot of "retired" Apple products and we are looking for the best way to get rid of them. We have a dozen or more iPhones, a few iPods, laptops and desk tops. To the best of my knowledge the all of the phones have been wiped clean. I'm not sure about the computers and some are not working properly if at all. For example an old iMac desktop plays a tone and is inoperable. Any suggestions are helpful. I'm in the suburbs of the Dallas/Ft Worth area.

Bring them to an Apple Store or Best Buy for recycling.

For the phones, anything that only supports 3G or older are obsolete and should be recycled. Any that support the 4G network can be given to women's shelters or other organizations. They can still be used for 911 emergency calls.

Apple will wipe them for sure.

You can also run a strong magnet over your hard disk if you want.

Note: If you can't access them then unless you really have very valuable info on your computer, I don't think anyone will waste time with expensive hardware to access it.

I had no idea, what about private information stored on computers that have issues and won't let me access to wipe them?
