Second monitor

Hi - I'd like to connect my 27-inch Mac with my Macbook Pro (2013) and use the MacBook Pro as a second monitor. Is that possible? I tried using the Thunderport cable, but it doesn't seem to work and I'm not sure if I need an HDMI on one end.

Any help is appreciated.

I bought one recently and believe I got the one made for Thunderbolt which obviously does not work with Early 2008 iMac....so is it possible and if so what do I need? Thank you in advance

MacBook Pros do not have a video in port.

Get an external monitor.
