MacPro 2010 Server 5.1 running OS Sierra suddenly refuses to sleep

Out of the blue after many months with no sleep problems, can no longer get my MacPro to sleep, even with Zzz app enabled/disabled. Have cleared all the caches etc etc, zapped the PRAM, reset the SMC all to no avail. Computer energy saver set to 15 minutes but it just sails on by without sleeping, and ignores the Apple menu command to sleep.

Activity monitor shows just one process preventing sleep, under CPU/Disk/Network, namely something called hidd, showing designated user for the process as _hidd. It shows parent process as launchd (1)/kernel task (0) and Process Group as hidd (111)

Does anyone have a clue what this might be? Thanks for any help

Have found it!!! It was the wifi USB mouse wrangler in a USB slot at the back of one of the Apple monitors! Transferred it to the main computer.. and Bob's your uncle! So sorry to have put you to all that trouble.. and very much obliged for your patient help..

We need to see what all is running, a report from this will not display any personal info...

EtreCheck is a FREE simple little diagnostic tool to display the important details of your system configuration and allow you to copy that information to the Clipboard. It is meant to be used with Apple Support Communities to help people help you with your Mac. It will not display any personal info.

Pastebin is a good place to paste the whole report if you capture the URL while there…

https://pastebin.com/

Whew, they've changed pastebin & made it harder, but after pasting in, click Create new paste button, then Embed button, then copy the URL...

<script src="https://pastebin.com/embed_js/KuvnghqA"></script>

The important part of the above is...

Workable but harder for me to work with...the Note tool on the bottom of this editor's toolbar, as shown in the image, to copy and paste the output from EtreCheck. In a Reply before you click post, look for this to add longer texts...

Whilst not good, I'm not of the opinion that such a seemingly small number should cause the lack of sleep.

Might report this in Terminal...
