I have a Mac book pro late 2014, it should be compatible and I have plenty of space for the download, but it will not download macOS Montgomery. Last update was OS X Yosemite 10.10.5. Anyone know what I should do to update?
If you have a MacBook Pro to update to Monterey you need a MacBook Pro introduced in 2015 or later.

Your 2014 MBP can go to as high as Big Sur and you can get that with the like provided by diabrain above

You will probably need to upgrade to El Capitan first.
I should have mentioned your MacBook Pro is not compatible, but you will most likely need to upgrade to El Capitan to upgrade beyond Yosemite.
