First time I have done this ever but I sold my Apple Watch on Ebay but forgot to remove it from my iCloud and the buyer has indicated they are getting this message. I've gone ahead and removed it now but he's saying it's still showing? Is there a delay?

thanks for this, wish I'd known about this before. I've already gone ahead and removed it from my cloud ;( so I can do any of that now and the message is still showing for the guy who has purchased the watch from me! Anything else I can do?
You need to follow the steps here;
