How to close apps on ipad after ios 15.4?

After updating ios 15.4, i couldn’t close apps the way i did. Please tell me how. Thank you.

  1. From the Home Screen, swipe up from the bottom of the screen and pause in the middle of the screen.
  2. Swipe right or left to find the app that you want to close. 
  3. Swipe up on the app's preview to close the app.

For one to actually be able to find the app you want to switch to with out turning it in to large icons of the Home Screen.


two study’s have showed that these apps do drain battery life a little but closing frequently used app all the time will reduce your battery life.


Three why break a convention that has been in the iOS for like almost ever?

this breaks trust with users and the interface standards.

And personal preference is on reason I wouldn't argue with. However, you can also use the search screen or Siri to avoid looking through the apps.

Yes, I should have mentioned that as one of the reasons it's not necessary to close apps: it reduces battery life.
