Deleting Junk mails

After deleting junk mail from my apple phone, the number of junk mails remains in the mailbox. It's only the number. No mail is there. How can I get rid of that number?

Try Force Closing the Mail app. That should straighten things out. Close an app on your iPhone or iPod touch - Apple Support
