Moving “On my iPad” files to ICloud drive

I have been struggling with this for some time. All WiFi connections work.

I have stored a couple of files on “my iPad” and want them transferred to ICloud Drive. I cannot drag and drop the files, ICloud does not accept them. What to do?

Frustrating is that the local drive does not seem to want to connect with ICloud. What can be the reason for this?

Hi soanfromrijswijk,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. Make sure you've set up iCloud Drive across all your devices:

  1. On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, go to Settings > [your name] > iCloud.
  2. Turn on iCloud Drive.
  3. A list of apps appears below iCloud Drive. When you turn on an app, it can store data in iCloud.
  4. To view your iCloud Drive files and folders, open the Files app and go to the iCloud Drive section.

For more information on how to use iCloud Drive on your iPad see the following:

Thanks
