Message search won’t bring me to specific text message or load full text

I found a thread from 2013 about this and it is absurd that there is still no solution to this 9 years later. I was looking for a specific text conversation and when I searched for it, it found the text I wanted, but when I clicked the message it just sent me to the latest conversation with that person, not the specific message I searched for. It also only shows a preview for it so the search either needs to show the full message and/or send me to that specific message when I click on it. Does anyone know how to do this or find that specific message?

PS- I’m not scrolling through all my texts because it was a text with my wife that happened over a year ago, so it would take an eternity to scroll back to that specific message, plus, I would likely miss it anyway.

This is not expected behavior, as tapping the search result should bring you directly to that specific message. So, let's run through a few things that could potentially be causing this.

Start by force-closing the Messages app, then test: Close an app on your iPhone or iPod touch.Turn your iPhone off, then back on: Restart your iPhone.Make sure your iPhone is fully updated: Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.Check to see if this happens with other message threads, or only with the one you have with your wife.
