Hey TomGJ3,
There's not a way to schedule an automatic reboot, but we'll be happy to help out with your sounds not working as expected. To get started, which exact iOS version do you have installed? You can check by going to Settings > General > About. If you're not yet fully updated to iOS 15.4, we'd suggest backing up and updating and testing further. For help with doing so, check out: Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
Also, if you go to Settings > Notifications is everything set up as expected and to your liking for all apps affected by this issue? For more info on managing notifications, check out: Use notifications on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch
We look forward to hearing what you find out. Take care!

Hey there TomGJ3,
We'd love to hear if the update helped. If it hasn't, the next spot to check would be to see if you've enabled Focus or Do Not Disturb.
"When you set up a Focus, you can select Allowed Notifications from people and apps. You can also enable Time Sensitive notifications from apps, which allows apps not in your allowed list to send notifications marked as Time Sensitive."
Let's have you check these settings to see if a Focus has been enabled automatically:
"To use Smart Activation, which will automatically apply your Focus at relevant times throughout the day:
When you turn on Smart Activation, it automatically turns on the Focus at relevant times throughout the day based on your signals, like location and app usage."
You'll find this in Use Focus on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. We'd want to rule out if Do Not Disturb or a scheduled Focus might be causing this issue. Please check out the rest of this guide to understand the how the feature is used.
Let us know if this helped.
Kind regards.
TomGJ3,
Thanks for the additional info.
From here, we'd recommend reaching out to Apple Support directly for additional assistance.
You can see contact options here:
Take care.
Do you notice you are not receiving notifications during the time you have set for Do Not Disturb, or is this occurring outside of the scheduled time?
If you feel Bluetooth may be an issue, you could turn off Bluetooth when the issue occurs to see if this resolves the issue.
Use Bluetooth and Wi-Fi in Control Center
We hope this helps.
Thanks for your reply. I have 15.3.1 installed, yet am updating now. This has been a problem for all iPhones I've owned regardless of the software version. Notifications are set accordingly. When I reboot the phone the sounds work perfectly and sometime later they quit. I'm baffled. Any other suggestions?
I do have Do Not Disturb set for 9pm to 6:30am.
The other three options in Focus have not been set up.
The update completed 10-20 minutes ago. It would take some time to recognize if that helped.
FYI: I frequently silence my phone using the side switch, but I'm having problems when the silence switch is on. I also use Bluetooth sometimes when I'm in my care or using wireless headphones. I've wondered if there is a bug on that portion of the software that causes my problem. It doesn't happen to my wife's iphone12 Pro, nor did it happen with her iPhone 8+.
ZERO notifications when on Do Not Disturb - although I do allow phone calls to come through in the event of an emergency.
Bluetooth is only a guess. Switching Bluetooth on and off have no impact on regaining sound notifications. Only a phone reboot (turn off and back on) cause the notification sounds to play again... until it fails again. :-(
