Unread mail

The blue "unread" dot disappears the instant you click on an email. I recall Outlook had a setting to delay that action a user-configurable number of seconds. Does Mac Mail have this option? I'd like to keep the unread dot if I opt to read an email later....getting tired of hitting Shift-Cmd-U ! ;-)

Inaccurate indication of unread emails in iMac Mail app When opening the Mail app on my iMac, numerous folders are highlighted and numbered as containing unread emails. This is inaccurate and the highlight/numbers disappear upon clicking any folder. Very annoying, but so far it hasn't affected the functioning of my Mail app.

Mac OS Ventura - Viewing emails Emails open in Mail screen BUT ALSO in a second small screen duplicating the email message. I have checked settings, changing one I thought might apply but no-o-o! Cannot find info in the many Mail articles on internet.

Unfortunately, no. However, you can mark emails as unread.
