Recently a lot of the pages I have tried browsing say that my browser is no longer supported. When I looked under the about this computer tab it says the version I am using is OS X El Capitan version 10.11.6 When I try and hit software updates I don't see any as being listed. What can I do to be able to visit simple pages I have always been able to access in the past?

Back up your data, check your applications for compatibility, and if your MacBook Pro model is recent enough, click on High Sierra, Mojave, Catalina, Big Sur, or Monterey; alternatively, switch to a product such as Firefox for those websites. If you get a Mac App Store preview page, change the https at the beginning of its address to macappstore.
Catalina and newer won't run 32-bit software; download and use Go64 to scan for it. To look up other programs, click here.
