Girlfriend got a new phone but didn’t transfer the data right away used it for pictures for a concert. Transferred the photos to a computer and is trying to transfer the data from old to new iPhone. Does she have to factory reset the new iPhone since she used it already?

Very simply, if she was backing up with I loud on the old phone, yes she will need to erase the new phone on her own first and that is explained in the in article. If she was backing up with iTunes and restores the backup that way, iTunes will do all the work for her.

If the back up she is trying to get onto the phone was originally a back up to a computer no it does not need erased first.
If that back up was an iCloud back up then yes you need to erase the phone first.
She hasn’t backed it up only transferred some new pictures taken on the new phone to a computer so it must be erased right? Sorry just so confused
