Back Up Now in Time Machine - missing / Mac Mini

Time Machine icon in menu bar has no 'Back Up Now' option. Where did it go?

Open preferences then pick Time machine. Uncheck the line that states "show Time machine in Menu Bar" and then recheck and see what happens. If that does not work then in the Time machine pane pick "select disk" and remove then add back in and see what happens.

I was referring to the drop-down menu from the menu bar, right?

It was one of the options, but now it's just not there. "Should be

there" is exactly my point. :-) So...remove icon from menu bar?

"Remove TM" -- in what way "remove"? [It's hubby's mac mini,

but I'm trying to help -- and we're both a tad tech-impaired.] ;-)

Should be there. Try to remove the icon and then check to show again and see what happens. Also you could try to remove TM and then connect again from the TM preference pane.
