Why is my iphone 12 front camera laggy on messenger and discord?

Whenever I do video calls with my friends, the front camera of my iphone ALWAYS lag. However, when I use facetime and the camera app, it’s pretty ok. Is what i’m experiencing normal? Or, what should I do?

There are some steps you can take if Messenger and Discord are not working as expected.

Start by forcing the app to close: Close an app on your iPhone or iPod touch
Restart your iPhone: Restart your iPhone
Ensure your iOS is up-to-date: Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
While you may loose app data, delete and reinstall the app: Delete apps on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch Redownload apps and games from Apple

If an app on your iPhone or iPad stops responding, closes unexpectedly, or won’t open
