MacBook Pro - problems with spacegrey color

Hello everyone! The surface of my macbook pro spacegrey looks pretty crappy, left and right of the trackpad. It's getting lighter and lighter ... more silver than spacegrey. I read online that this is a pretty known issue with all macbook spacegrey. Something is happening between the color and the movement of the hands/arms. Does anyone have some tips on what to do about this and how to fix it?

MacBook Pro 16″, macOS 12.2

This is a cosmetic issue and isn't necessarily "fixable". The "fix" is likely just to stop further degradation or to at least slow it down. Overly aggressive cleaning can affect the finish. "Normal" wear can include some surface wear as body oils can affect the finish too.
