How do I disable Split View in safari and in iOS

This question has been asked before, but the solutions given dont exist (i.e. the settings they suggest changing are gone or have been moved).

This feature is the bane of my life - every time I use the phone or ipad, I get these weird half screens whenever I navigate, especially in safari, but also outside of it. I will never use multitasking or multi-window, and want to permanently disable it on all my devices. I wish these were opt ins, instead of breaking existing user experience.

Any suggestions how to disable all split screen features?

Since Split View is only available on an iPad, we're not exactly sure what's happening with your iPhone 13 Pro. The closest thing to Split View on an iPhone is called Multitasking: Multitask with Picture in Picture on iPhone - Apple Support. Are you seeing one window showing a video/movie/FaceTime? If so, you can use the steps provided on that page of the iPhone User Guide to stop it (since there isn't a specific setting).

If that isn't what you're seeing, have you tried restarting your iPhone to resolve the issue? Restart your iPhone - Apple Support

The problem mainly occurs on iphone 13 pro. Unfortunately, that article doesnt say how to disable these features.

There seem to be two split screen functions, one in the OS, and one in safari. Both drive me crazy with splitting the screen for no apparent reason, then having great difficulty getting out of it. It wastes time and has no use (for me). I want to disable these features as they are a hindrance, not a help.

iPad 15.4.1 - please add a way to disable this. This is so confusing for seniors to navigate. My mother keeps getting the split screen and is just confused her further. I might even go as far as saying this is an accessibility problem.
