I just tried updating my iOS software to 15.4 for iPhone 11 but is asking for a passcode. Others have suggested in previous posts that it is your passcode to unlock your phone, however it DOES NOT work and have already attempted twice with incorrect code. I can unlock my phone with my code, face id, etc. but the same code does not work for updating the software...what do I do?

Thanks for posting in Apple Support Communities! The passcode being requested should be the passcode you use to unlock your device. Since that's not working, do you have a restrictions passcode in place? To find out tap Settings > Screen Time to see if any of these settings are turned on. Here's more information, just in case: Use parental controls on your child's iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch
If so, you may need to reset that password using these steps: If you forgot your Screen Time passcode
If that's not the case, check for an installed profile to see if your iPhone is "managed" by tSettings > General > Profiles & Device Management: Install or remove configuration profiles on iPhone
