Why is Xcode not updating automatically on my Mac when I set the System Preferences to automatically update apps from App Store?

Why is Xcode not automatically updating when I check "Automatically keep my Mac up to date" in System Preferences->Software Update and "Install app updates from the App Store" in Advanced?

Has it happened on multiple updates?


If the issue has just started, we recommend that boot into safe mode, then boot normally.

After trying that step, we recommend that you check if the issue persists.
