Recently purchased iPhone 12, when I set an alert in my calendar it will not make a sound, the phone only vibrates. I have notifications set for vibration and sound. In the Sound & Haptics it shows the calendar notification with the ‘Hello’ sound I chose. What else can I try?

Check Settings > Sounds & Haptics > Change with Buttons to see that it’s “on”. Use those buttons to increase the ringer alert volume. Aside from that, I can’t think of anything else to try.
If that happened to me, I would check Settings > Notifications > Calendar and be certain all options are set "On".

I use the "Chord" sound. It's somewhat louder and longer lasting than "Hello".
Also note when setting the sound in Sounds & Haptics, you should hear a sample of the sound.

I just tried my alarm clock and the sound on it is very faint, even though the volume button is turned up. I think I might have a sound issue in general with my phone. I’ll take in to the dealer for help.
I originally had the sound set to Chord but am trying other sounds to see if that solved the problem…but it didn’t. And yes the phone makes the sound when I switch from one sound to another.
Everything is turned on and still no sound. Anything else I can try?
