Apple HDMI adapter won’t play downloaded Disney + videos
My apple adapter in the past with Disney + would play videos that were downloaded from iPad with no problem. Now, it’s saying can’t play with the external device.

You could try unplugging and re-plugging in that adapter ( with all cables attached ) back into the iPad to see if this solves your issue/s, or not.
Be advised all streaming video/TV/movie company apps reserve the right to limit how their content is viewed through any computer or computing device.
Disney may have recently updated their app to prevent video output from any smart phone or tablet device under Digital Content Rights Management laws.
