After last iOS update, group replies appear as part of a conversation on my iPhone but appear as a single reply for each group member on the iPad. On both devices, the text is blue so no SMS or MMS. A message to two or three contacts works as expected. The group that has a problem involves about 20 people. Thanks

Are you using Wi-Fi or cellular? Does it occur with both types of internet connections?

All responses in a group SMS are sent as individual text messages and the recipients can’t see the other responses from the group.
A good way to test to see if this is the case, do you have the option of leaving the group conversation? Leave a group text message on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
To leave a group text, everyone needs to be using iMessage, which is an Apple feature. If you don't see the option to leave, it might mean that one or more of the users isn't using an Apple device with iMessage.
Have you tried deleting the conversation to see if that helps? You may want to backup any important messages before doing so.

It sounds like you're having some trouble with group messaging on the iPad.
As a first step, you may need to make sure that Group Messaging is toggled on by going to Settings > Messages > Group Messaging. Learn more here: Send a group message on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.

This "feature" used to work. No settings have been changed. It appears to be an issue on the backend of the software. Several of my friends are experiencing the same issues. Apple, please take a look into this. Its a huge problem
