Should I shut down my M1 MacBook Air?
I looked at a question similar to this but didn’t quite get the answer I was looking for. Should I ever shut down my Mac or can I continue just closing it when I’m not using it?

I don't shut down my MBA anymore than necessary. I close open apps, disconnect from the internet, turn off Bluetooth, and put it to sleep if I don't plan to use it for a while. Shut downs happen with updates, if I'm traveling, if it's misbehaving, and for other reasons, but not usually required daily.
AFAIK, there has always been, at least, two "schools of thought" on this topic. One has you shutting down your notebook at the end of the day, and then, restarting it the next. The other would have you leave your notebook running 24x7.
Neither is necessarily better than the other. It really comes down to personal taste. FWIW, I choose the former and have done so since my first "home" computer, a Commodore 64. This method has never failed me.
I like shutting down as it can clear out some files/caches each time.
FWIW, I shut down my computer if I'll be away from it for an hour or more.
Thank you for the feedback! This really helped with my decision. 🙏🏾
