Zombie cookies

I've tried removing them with the following method:

zombie cookie removal

navigate to: ~/Users/YourAccountName/Library/Safari/Databases/_IndexedDB

where ~ is top level drive where the system is stored

The folders in the _IndexDB directory will include the cookie names (i.e....news.yahoo.com_0) you want to delete.

send the entire folder to the trash and empty it.

Random websites open when I start safari so I noticed this over the past few days. I open safari and whatever tabs where open earlier just opened up and its never happened before. those aren't the settings I have. when I came on this forum earlier I saw someone suggesting it could be malware so I downloaded a malwarebytes as per the instructions under the other post and it showed no malware found. what do I do now? while granting full disk access to malwarebytes I noticed a few other applications that could be granted full disk access like avast uninstaller, bash and sshd_keygen_wrapper...what on earth are these? do I delete these? if so, how?

Hi - I think I has cookies or a yahoo virus that forced Safari to use yahoo search engine. Can you help me fix it? I have a bug in my safari that routes all searches through Yahoo! Help! how do I get rid of it?
