Serif Font Suddenly on iOS Keyboard

My MIL has an iPhone 6s. I noticed that her keyboard keys are a serif font, possibly Times New Roman. It's hard to read and very old fashioned looking. I've looked through every keyboard setting and see nowhere to change it back to the standard font. I've never encountered this before. I saw one other person asked this question but they only got a basic response from Apple with suggestions like checking installed fonts and Keyboard settings. There are no installed fonts and there is nothing in Keyboard settings that addresses this issue.

Could you post a screen shot?


My first guess would be that a 3rd party keyboard has been installed and is active. Go to settings > general > keyboard > keyboards and make sure there is only one item on the list, and that the name of that item is English (US), and not GBoard or another non-Apple keyboard.
