Unknown process "Applications" in activity monitor running at 121% cpu usage

Hi everyone,

My computer recently slowed to a crawl, so I opened activity monitor to check it out

My CPU usage was at 100%, even though the only two apps open were Google Chrome with 4 tabs, and Activity Monitor.

I found a process with the name "Applications" at 121%, and its parent group was launchd.

This entry had the old app store icon, somewhat like this: (https://1000logos.net/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/App-Store-Logo-2013.png)

I have poked around Activity Monitor before, and even though this process sounds legitimate, it aroused my suspicions as I have never seen it before. Does anyone know what this does, and could it be malware disguising itself, or am I just paranoid? Thanks for all your help in advance!

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 11.6
