Mirroring images and videos on Apple TV 4K

Dear community,

I want to know how is sound and image quality by mirroring videos and photos from IPhone / Ipad to Apple TV using Airplay protocol ? Is movie fluid and image quality ok? I used a third-party app for mirroring from IPhone to Chromecast and movie quality on TV was very poor.

Sincerely yours,

Claudiu

500 MB/s may be where the connection comes into your home, what is MUCH more important is what is the signal strength where the Apple TV is located. You can use a software tool such as iStumbler to measure that.

The video quality should be the same as the phone however again that depends on the weakest link in your system which could be the Wi-Fi signal strength or the resolution on your TV. We use Airplay to stream from an iPad to one of our 4K TVs using one of our Apple TV 4K units, this is how we get a church services on Sundays. The picture quality is almost always great, in our case the Church's steaming signal can be weak on occasion, a refresh on the iPad usually fixes that problem though.
