27" Studio Display sound issues

I have the new studio display and I was very underwhelmed by the built-in speakers.

In Apple Music I noticed that if I paired a home pod to the playing audio, the bass of the Studio Display and quality of the audio dramatically increased, giving the sound I would expect. I presumed at first it was an audio illusion with the extra speaker adding to it, but then tried with the home pod volume off, yet the Studio Display audio sounds absolutely amazing, as soon as I unpaid the screen reverts back to it's tinny sound.

There are also inconsistencies with Audio Enhance and Sound Check, so if you check and uncheck them, a totally different audio experience kicks in...

The best setting seems to be sound check on and audio enhance off, and connected to home pod with no volume...

I've recoded a short video which I hope might illustrate the difference. The audio on the video actually sounds best before the homepod is added, and then distorted once added, but in real terms, the audio is quite flat and lacks bass before the home pod, and once homepod connected (with no volume) the bass kicks in and sounds incredible.

Using MBP 14" Monterey 12.3 and Screen firmware Version 15.4 (Build 19E241)
