Old iPad. Email no longer exists, no idea of password. Locked out. Now what
Old iPad with old email that no longer exists. Have used without signing in for years. Now locked out I paid for this iPad. Make it work.

Since you indicate that it is asking for Email, you will probably need the Apple ID and Password used to set up the iPad. Without that info, you cannot get past the Activation Lock which is a theft prevention feature. We cannot help and Apple will not unless you can provide the original receipt clearly showing the serial number.
