I need to add a printer and garage door opener to my wireless network. I have an old PC that I keep around for these needs but trying to figure out if I can do it on my new 2nd generation iPad Pro?

If the devices can be managed using a web browser, you should be able to manage them using most computers and other devices that have a web browser application.
If instead the devices that you need to manage require a specific software application, that is only available for a specific operating system such as Microsoft Windows, then you’ll not be able to manage them from your iPad/iPhone/Mac - unless you can find a corresponding App in the Apple App Store.
