Safari jumps to the top of the previous page

I have seen a couple of other discussions on here about this, but nothing seems to fix it.

When I am using Safari (iPhone iOS 15.4) any time I hit the back button, it brings me to the top of the previous page instead of where I left off. This is particularly annoying when using google search. I don’t remember this always being the case, and I feel that this is only been recent (within the last few months).

I have tried the private/non private tabs, deleting Safari data/history, force closing Safari, and nothing.

Is there a setting I am missing?

I had the same problem was driving me crazy.

I manage to fix it when I moved the search/address bar to the bottom of the screen.

I found if the address bar was at the top it would alway scroll to the top when I went back a page. But when the address was at the bottom when I go back a page it would stay in the same place I was last at.

In the address bar you just need to tap on the aA to adjust
