After Install Mojave to Mac Pro 2012, No Restart And Black Screen

Hello, I've Mac Pro 2012. When I Installed Mojave to SSD (Samsung Evo 870) restart function doesn't work.

I formated USB bootable as "Mac Os Extended (Journaled)"

I selected for SSD format type as "Mac Os Extended (Journaled)" and "GUID Partition Map"

After Install Mojave SSD File Sytem seems as APFS.

When I try to restart computer it doesn't work. There is just black screen. I have to hold the power button and force quit.

*** During installation black screen 1-2 times has come. I waited for along time. Didn't change anything. I shut down to mac hold to power button and re open it. Installation finished.

I called to Apple Support and they offered to write here.

  • I did SMC and NVRAM reset
  • I tried to repair macOS with cmd+R shortcuts. (*** black screen again)

I pluged on mac just power cable, hdmi for monitor, ethernet cable. I used once cable keyboard and mouse.

For 10 days I'm trying to fix it. I Installed 4 or 5 times as I explain it.

What is the problem and How can I fix it?

EVO 870 does not have a good reputation for use in Mac Pro. Use a different drive, such as a rotating magnetic disk in a bay or an External disk to get this working, then you can experiment further.

MacOS 10.13 High Sierra and later convert the boot drive format (if it is an SSD) to Apple File System (APFS). This is expected behavior, NOT a defect.

YOU MUST have been running 10.13.6 at some point to get the correct firmware installed to begin this process.

Install macOS 10.14 Mojave on Mac Pro (Mid 2010) and Mac Pro (Mid 2012) - Apple Support

During the Mojave install process, an additional firmware update will be installed, During upgrade to 10.14.6, another firmware update will be installed. By the end of this process,

 menu >about this Mac > (system report) ...

Boot/System Firmware version: 144.0.0.0.0

The screen going black is concerning, and suggests you graphics card may not have the required firmware to show boot screens under Metal, or may be flaky.

OK, you have the last available Boot ROM/firmware already installed, 144.0.0.0, so firmware is not the issue.

There is no way to support ThunderBolt on your model Mac (unless it left the factory ThunderBolt-ready, which that model did NOT.) You are chasing features that will take some remarkable hacks, IF you can ever get them working.

You are retrying to change too much at once. If you want to install Mojave, use an ordinary, boring drive in a drive bay or external. Once you get that working and stable, THEN you can try to get your experimental SSDs in PCIe Slots working as well.

I tried to install macOS High Sierra (4.74 GB File Size) but it couldn't be bootable disk. Then I searched the same problem in apple discussion's website, so I found 5.2 GB File Size version. Next step, I made bootable it on USB. When started to install High Sierra 2 times stoped and than black screen came again.

Now I'm using it the same SSD (EVO 870).

I bought Gigabyte Titan Ridge Thunderbolt 3 Pci card. Different updates needed to increase transfer speed. Could the problem be with it?
