I want to be able to upload music from my macbook to my iPhone but I can't because my "iPhone is currently using Cloud Music Library".
This question has been asked before but the answer appears to be out of date as the settings described on both iPhone and the mac music app no longer exist.
So how do I turn it off?

Hi, Thanks for helping out. I do not have an Apple Music subscription. I did have it briefly but cancelled it a while ago and it is not active now, but when I connect my phone to my computer I'm still presented with this message:

Since you're not using iCloud Music Library, and do not see the options on your Mac or iPhone, we recommend trying to sync your music in safe mode. Here's how: How to use safe mode on your Mac
This may further isolate the behavior you're experiencing.
