macOS Monterey iCloud Drive sync is extremely slow on 2020 M1 MacBook Pro

For a while now, iCloud Drive sync has occasionally been freezing up and syncing at an absurdly slow rate for a small amount of files despite having a perfectly good connection, not syncing changes to my other devices. Sometimes it finishes up, sometimes I have to sign fully out of my Apple ID for things to work again, which also means downloading everything again. How can I make this stop happening?

Hi D0nkm3m3s,

Thanks for the photo of the updating, we see how small the files are, so let's see what we can do to get this fixed. You mentioned also the Mac isn't syncing changes to other Apple devices. We see you have macOS 12.3, Apple just released macOS 12.3.1.

You may want to see if updating to the latest macOS will help with these issues. And you can learn more about the update here: What's new in the updates for macOS Monterey.

After updating, if this continues, take a look at If your Mac runs slowly to see if any of the suggestions found here help. Reach back out if you need further help.

Take care!
