Our apple remote is cracked and at times we think it affects the ability to control TV
How do I get this replaced? Is it covered under warranty?

IF you got AppleCare on the Apple TV you might be able to get the remote replaced 1x on an accidental damage claim. If you do not have AppleCare then you will need to pay for the remote. I seriously doubt Apple would cover it under warranty, I've never heard of one spontaneously cracking, the crack likely was due to some type of accidental damage.
