How do i change my passcode back to 4 digits after having a 6 digit code

Go to settings—- General—Face id & Passcode— input current passcode—-Change passcode—-Enter your present passcode— change passcode option— change it to 4 digit Numeric code—- Input passcode as per wish.

First off I would leave it as a 6 digit code or even make it harder with a combination alphanumeric code. 4 digit passcodes are pretty weak and leave your phone insecure. And if you remove having a passode/Face ID anyone can pick up your phone and use it.

But if you insist, did you remove any profiles that were placed on your phone by your employer.

Digits are numbers. Are you wanting a 4 digit passcode like 1234 as opposed to 123456? And you did remove the profile and any management files? Are you using 2FA and do you have any payment cards on your phone?

Would def recommend following deggie’s advice and leaving it at at least 6-digits.

A even longer numeric passcode is EASY to enter, difficult to surreptitiously observe, and cryptologically stronger.

Understand that the passcode is what prevents ANYONE from accessing all of your data.

When you misplace your phone … it’s what makes the difference between “Darn it …” and “Oh my god …!” if you have high confidence that it can’t be “cracked.”

And you did a forced restart of you iPhone after removing the profile?

Then something is on your phone still preventing it. Try this: Make a backup of your iPhone if you have data you need to preserve. After that put your iPhone in DFU mode (use YouTube to search for a video on this). Then restore your iPhone as a new device and set up your new passcode/Face ID. After setting it up restore your iPhone again this time from your backup.
