Is the Report Junk Messages in Junk Messages on an iPhone Safe to Use?

Earlier this evening I got a message in my iPhone iMessage app that spoofed my phone number and said that I paid my bill I was entitled to a gift. I slid the message box left to delete it and got another small box under the message asking me to click in it if I wanted to report the message to Apple as junk. I did so, the original spoofed message the box instantly disappeared.

I see that Apple has had a way to delete junk messages for a while but the procedure is a bit different. Did I do the right thing or did I compromise my phone?

It is not clear what that link was. So commenting without knowing the link may not be helpful to you.
