Receiving spam from my own # on my iPhone?

First - I have not a CLUE what category this would be in??? I chose “discussions” I believe???

This am I received a message from a name I recognized - my own. From my own iPhone #. First, I HAVE sent very important web page links to my own number and even named contact my name instead of “me” in contacts.

So it was surprising to receive for first time ever, a message from “me” from a “Specter Watered” named “company”, thanking me for my payment for last month. I’ve never heard of this company. I also don’t understand how to block this number if it is the equivalent of blocking myself.

How is this even possible?!!! And what do I do?

Ps. One thing I can think of that seems unsurprisingly related? My underage child received a spam message that when she responded to, saying “this is wrong #”, they then sent *********** to her. I was livid. She blocked it. I reported them to ftc. But first I made a clearly big mistake and responded (yeah I know - I was enraged though, I know now I up) saying “you’ve sent not just spam but *********** to a child, I am blocking and reporting you”. I did both. I worry these are obviously related.

WHAT - if ANYTHING - can I do?!!! (Not able to block them without blocking my number, can’t report my number as spam, and yes, I promise I’ll never respond again in rage to a pos bot like this again). ANY HELP IS APPRECIATED. (My daughter’s phone has NEVER touched an adult website and I have 100% control over it - she uses it for fun ONLY - and to text family members).

THANKS in advance!!!
