Messages app won't open

Why does my messages app refuse to open? I got a notification that I had new messages.

iMac 27″, macOS 11.6

iPad messages won’t update The messages app stopped giving notification yesterday about 4:00ish. Works fine on my iPhone. Someone send me a message on the messages app. I get the new message and a notification on my iPhone but not my iPad.

Messages Does anyone have an idea why my messages app crashes every time i open it?? i also don’t receive notifications from it so i have no way of seeing any messages being sent to me. It’s been this way for a few months oops (my software is up to date)
