How do I print a section from a page?
Either a saved document or a saved screenshot or an open web page? I can't find anything up to date on Communities that works. And 'print selection only' does not exist.

Print Selection for macOS can save you ink, paper, time ...
worse case scenario, copy and paste into a plain .txt file first— print that stripping out formatting/images/etc

Last I checked, Office apps can print a selection, or various other options. With a section of the document selected, Print (cmd-P), then select the option to print the selection in the print dialog box.
I hardly ever use it anymore.
Open the Word Help and search for Print Selection.
Since only the App knows what content you have selected, and only the app knows how to raster the content you have selected, the app is the only thing that can provide the feature you want.
If the app supports printing the selection, the setting will most likely be where you choose the page range.
I want to print a recipe but not the photo as it takes up too much ink. I do not seem to be able to do this.
Also I highlighted some text from this page and tried to just print the area, but the print dialog box will only print the whole page.
Should I just accept I can't print part of the page?
If this is a Word document, I suggest you make a duplicate, delete the image and print.
Alternatively:
In the Print dialog, choose PDF->Open PDF in Preview.
Using the Markup tools in Preview, "paint" a white rectangle covering the image (and the same for anything else you may want to cover). Print the resulting PDF.
I didn't even know what TextEdit was. I did a quick save of a recipe to TextEdit and it was easy to delete the photos that take up the ink. I will read about it more but it certainly will save on ink. I cannot see Print Selection via Services in Safari and Print Chimp will not download in the UK. But textedit is super. Thank you.
The app would have to provide that capability, and the print driver would have to provide access to the app’s special capabilities.
Eh! I use M'soft Word, a Cannon printer and my MacBook Air. Can you expand please?
I would imagine that Safari doesn't offer the option to print the selection, then.
If that is something you need, maybe try a different browser.
