iPhone Notification Sounds while connected to car

To clarify further- when you connect to Bluetooth in your car, notifications are sent to the car audio. I can hear the notifications if I’m listening to music from my phone. But if I’m on the radio, you can’t hear the notifications because they are going to the car audio. The only way to get notification noises is by disconnecting ring from Bluetooth, which is dumb because you can’t answer a call in the car if it’s disconnected.

like I said, when using maps, you’re able to switch from Bluetooth to phone speakers and the maps directions will be read and heard from the phone speakers.

I’m trying to see if there is a way to get texts and other alert noises to use phone speakers instead of my car speakers while connected to Bluetooth.

It has nothing to do with other audio devices or being silenced with Driving Focus. It’s the way it’s always been and doesn’t make sense unless you are listening to music from your phone.

So is there a way to hear notification noises on my phone speakers while connected to my car audio system?
