I bought an iMac from an old lady who had forgotten the firm password. I need to know what do I need to do. She didn’t give any papers or receipt but she was the only owner. I bought it through OfferUp. Please let me know so I can forward the serial number. Thanks.

Then there's nothing you can do. This is Firmware Lock, or EFI Lock. You cannot do anything until you get this password that it is prompting you for.
