My Mac won’t accept my CORRECT password

Whenever I restart my Mac it won’t accept my correct password. I’ve had to each time reset my password to something different, enter that in, and then change it to my old password. This is a very very new Mac and it’s fully updated.

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 10.12
