software update keeps checking
My Big Sur 11.6 is trying to update and keeps checking continuously.
iMac 27″, macOS 10.13
1 - Suggest restarting in Safe Mode. This will perform a Disk Repair, clear cache files and only load Apple Software, extensions and fonts. The boot up will be slow and can take some time - Normal.
2 - Does the issue present in this mode ?
3 - The Software Update Applet in System Preferences of Big Sur has been iffy at best IMHO.
4 - Since the computer is already running Big Sur 11.6 - there has been several updates to Big Sur since then. The current version of Big Sur 11.6.5
5 - Suggestion in the Terminal Application use this command without Quotation Marks
" softwareupdate --list-full-installers " and what is the output of this command ?
